This is a one time registration fee that shows you are serious about attending, and it goes right back into the operational costs to run our academy including coach time, bathing supplies, fitting products, clipper maintenance, etc.
Our academy is unlike any camp out there. It runs a lot longer than two days out of the year, and provides a personalized touch for your kiddos. At a regular livestock camp, there is so much information crammed into two days. At LifeStock Academy we are constantly building your child's knowledge and showmanship providing instant feedback and lots of hands on practice during the entire summer. Our coaches schedules are pretty flexible, and so they are able to be there for your kids even on show days to assist and cheer them on!
Right now we are running a promotion where the first ten kids to enroll will receive a full-ride scholarship for the summer 2025 season. This excludes the initial registration fee, but everything else regarding training sessions is taken care of through our amazing sponsors!
Once those first ten spots are filled, there might be smaller scholarships available on a case by case basis dependent on additional sponsors or donations.
Private training sessions are $50 per hour, and is where your child will receive one-on-one training time with one of our coaches. This allows instant and personalized feedback where 100% attention will be on your child. They tend to excel faster in these sessions since they are the focus during that hour.
Semi-private training sessions are $35 per hour/per child. This is where two kids are being trained at the same time. Your child still has a great amount of attention and feedback given back from their coach, but it is shared with the other child also in that session.
Group training sessions are $20 per hour/per child. There must be at least a minimum of three kids, with a maximum of six kids per session. The attention is divided amongst more children, and so feedback will be given back accordingly. This however provides an excellent way to practice with other kids in a more realistic show setting, and gets animals used to that as well.
Whereas you can just pick one of the above to do, our coaches recommend combining at least a couple private/semi-private sessions with at least 1 group session a week in order to be better prepared to hit the show ring!
Our coaches have been involved with showing since 2014. They did not have the initial help in the beginning, and had to learn a lot of it on their own. (Since it changed so much since their mother showed in the 1980s.) They have learned a lot over the years when it comes to raising sheep and goats, fitting, and showing. Each of them have won Grand and Reserve showmanship titles in the state of Utah, along with market and breeding Grand and Reserve titles in their time showing. Each of our three coaches bring something unique to the table for your kids. Kambry has had the most showring time out of the three, and has gone on to show at some of the national shows here in the US. She has a unique showmanship style that she can pass on to your kids and take them to the top. Kadyn has amazing showmanship tips to offer, but where she has especially shined is in clipping and fitting. She has gone on to professionally fit animals for some of the high end show goat breeders here in Utah for their sales. She does an incredible job, and will teach your kiddos to do an incredible job fitting their animals as well. Kassia showed for five years, and did an amazing job winning primarily in showmanship. She internalized the important lessons you can learn from being involved in livestock projects, and thus loves to help pass on her knowledge and help kids succeed in the ring. She has been living in Oklahoma the last five years and has helped out several FFA chapters with lamb and goat projects. She also coaches her daughter Maklyn, who at age four already has won two Grand Champion Peewee Goat Showman titles consistently showing against other kids twice her age. She is here for the summer, and is excited to specifically work on refining your kids showmanship and sportsmanship skills.
Yes- absolutely! We encourage you to bring any and all animals you want to work with to your booked session(s).
No. Please DO NOT bring your sick animals to your training session. We will be more than happy to reschedule your session for a later time once your animal has fully recovered, and is no longer contagious. If you have any questions of when that might be- we will connect you to our onsite veterinarian: Carolyn McGuire DVM.
